Keeping Her Hands up

I will walk behind you

and follow your trail

I will not ask you to move faster

nor will i have the desire to exceed your pace

when you grow tired, i will not take over

but i will constantly remind why you started walking in the first place

I will throw water down your throat and straighten your back

and when you make it to the finish line,

I will lift your chin and kiss you on the cheek

and thank you for leading me.
